Lea Goodman, Managing Partner

Lea Goodman is a managing partner of The Legacy One Group, Houston, Texas and a Managing Field Advisor/OSJ of FSC Securities Corporation, member FINRA/SIPC.  She holds Series 4, 7, 24, 53, 63, and 65 registrations, is registered in all 50 states and as an agent for multiple national carriers of Life, Accident, Health and HMO Insurance with the Texas Department of Insurance.  Prior to joining The Legacy One Group as a business partner with Richard Ethun in August 2000, Lea served as President, Tower Square Securities, from 1999-2000.  From 1995-1999, she served as President of Advantage Capital Corporation (which was merged into FSC in 2009), as ACC Chief Operating Officer from 1990-1995 and ACC General Counsel from 1985-1990.  She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston, TX, and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Houston’s Bates College of Law.  In a highly regulated and intensely supervised business such as the securities industry, we believe Lea’s professional management, supervisory and legal skill sets serve well our client’s interests, our division and that of our broker dealer, FSC Securities Corporation.  As business partners, Lea and Richard strive to create and maintain a company with the highest professional and ethical standards to provide our clients sound investment advice in keeping with their particular financial needs and risk tolerance.

 

Richard Ethun, Managing Partner

Richard Ethun is a managing partner of The Legacy One Group, Houston, Texas.  He established The Legacy One Group in Houston in 1998 and created a business partnership with Lea Goodman in August 2000.  He holds Series 7, 24, 63, and 66 registrations and is registered in all 50 states and as an agent for multiple national carriers of Life, Accident, Health and HMO Insurance with the State Departments of Insurance in Texas, South Carolina and Massachusetts.  Prior to joining the securities business as a financial advisor with Advantage Capital Corporation in 1996, Richard spent over 20 years in private business.  In 1972 after leaving the University of Texas in Austin,  he joined Shiner of Austin, Inc. as a partner in the first independent urban distributor of this Texas  beer.  In 1979, as an owner and managing partner of Sunbelt Distributors, Inc., he brought Haagan-Dazs Ice Cream to central Texas.  Over the next 14 years he managed the growth of this business to include Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream, Dove Bars, Colombo Frozen Yogurt and a host of other products with exclusive distribution rights for the state of Texas.  In 1991, through his company, AEM Marketing LP, Richard was awarded the exclusive rights to manufacture and distribute Colombo Frozen Yogurt and various other international products for the countries of the Pacific Rim with offices in Seoul, Korea; Manila, Philippines; and Saigon, Vietnam.  Richard’s entrepreneurial experience provides a unique perspective for our clients and our firm.  As business partners, we feel Richard and Lea have created and maintain a company with the highest professional and ethical standards to provide our clients sound investment advice in keeping with their particular financial needs and risk tolerance.

 

Julie Chapman, Financial Advisor

Julie Chapman is a financial advisor with The Legacy One Group and holds the Securities 7, 66, and 24.  She is registered in 23 states, including Texas, Virginia, California, Florida, Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and North Carolina, with FSC Securities Corporation.  Julie is also a Texas Insurance Agent, with Life, Accident, Health, and HMO and a Texas Real Estate Broker.
 
She joined The Legacy One Group in 2004, and operates from her primary office in Houston or secondary office in Plano.  Julie enjoys the process of supporting clients working toward the best possible retirement.  We believe her extensive background in real estate as well as teaching serve to enhance her ability to address retirement and investment issues.  She has also worked extensively negotiating contracts for the telecommunications industry and as both financial and sales vice president for other private businesses.  As a caregiver for both parents over the years, she brings an expertise in working with that special sector of clients.
 
She earned her BBA degree from Texas Tech University and her MBA degree from Louisiana Tech University.  While teaching at Sunset High School in Dallas, she taught the first Business Management Class ever taught in the state of Texas.  She works with many active and retired teachers.

She has served on the boards of the American Lung Association and Lovers Lane United Methodist Church; has been a Girl Scout Leader, and worked with various hospital visitation teams.  She is a former Teacher of the Year and American Business Woman of the Year.  Her passion is serving the needs of others.

 

Ginger Hardy, Office Manager

Ginger joined The Legacy One Group in October 2009 as Office Manager, after taking a break from the securities industry to have four children.    She has a 14 year work history with Lea Goodman,  Managing Partner of The Legacy One Group.  Ginger holds the  Series 7 and 63 registrations.

In 1983, Mrs. Hardy began her career in the securities arena within the legal department of American Capital Asset Management.   She joined Advantage Capital (broker/dealer) in 1987 working with Lea Goodman.  In 1989 Ginger was promoted to Paralegal, in 1990 to Legal Project Specialist, and in such role became part of the General Securities Department  in 1997 where she assisted in the marketing and development of Advantage Capital's advisory product .  She  left  Advantage Capital in 1999 as Assistant Vice President and began her voyage into motherhood with boy/girl twins.
 
Ginger has lived in Texas her entire life.  She shares her time outside of Legacy One with her husband of over 15 years, her 4 children and 2 rescue dogs.  

 


Sahar Qashqai, Office Assistant

Sahar joined The Legacy One Group in March of 2011.


Sahar grew up in Santa Fe, NM and received her B.A. in sociology and political science from University of Southern California. She moved to Houston in August of 2010 and is currently pursuing a Masters of Public Health with an emphasis on management and policy from University of Texas Health Science Center.   She joined The Legacy One Group parttime in March  2011.  Sahar assists in managing the Houston office and is a very delightful person and an asset to our team.
